North American iGC Symposium 2021 – First Virtual Edition a Big Hit with the Global Sorption Community

Following a challenging year in 2020, the iGC Symposium returned in 2021 with its first online edition, bringing the sorption community together to learn, share insights, and reconnect.

Taking place 17 & 18 February 2021, the Symposium offered attendees a vast array of scientific presentations, posters, and panel debates exploring the latest applications for Inverse Gas Chromatography. Topics & applications discussed in the agenda included Additives, Adhesion/Cohesion, Cellulose, Chemicals, Composites, Fibers, Food, Glass, Metals, Minerals, Nanomaterials, Pharmaceuticals, Polymers, Powders/particles, Soil, and more.

With 191 attendees joining the US-based event from 22 countries across the globe, some from as far away as Israel, India, Japan, and Malaysia to name a few, the Symposium proved to be a truly international gathering place for researchers, scientists, and students involved in surface science. The event offered a range of networking opportunities, from direct messaging to video networking sessions. Participating companies and institutions came from a range of industries and fields of research, including pharmaceuticals, automotive, food, energy, oil & gas, chemicals, cosmetics, defense, and more, as well as a variety of academic institutions, contract laboratories, and government agencies.

Following the success of the first virtual iGC Symposium, Surface Measurement Systems are now looking ahead to the European Sorption Science Symposium 2021 – Online Edition, a global virtual event dedicated to the Sorption Science community. The agenda will explore a range of sorption science topics, covering Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS) and Inverse Gas Chromatography (iGC), and offer an even wider range of conference features and networking activities. Taking place 22 & 23 September 2021, it promises to be a can’t-miss dedicated event for the sorption science community.
